Ok, who has bought a floor jack recently?
 

My 30+ year floor jack is on its last legs. Who has purchased one in the last few months and where did you purchase it? Looking for real world experience, not Internet hype.

Just bought a 4 ton from Harbor Freight for my auto repair shop. We'll see how it holds up. Used to buy commercial grade floor jacks from Napa. The last one I bought from them didn't last very long.

Haven't used it much but works well and no issues so far.

This is my first jack with the quick lift feature, I never knew what I was missing and will never purchase another without the quick lift.

Harbor Freight 2 ton (or 2-1/4) ultra low profile, high lift with quick lift and a beam attachment. The ultra low goes under the front spoiler of the Trans Am, and the 24" lift will get most pickup trucks off the ground. The beam attachment is great on FWD cars where you don't have a center jacking point.

As others have mentioned — Harbor Freight has a surprisingly high quality line of floor jacks. I have the 3 ton “Daytona” low-profile jack, and it’s great quality. By far the best jack you can get at that price point.

funny you ask, my lincoln ive had for 40 years is finally giving up. so i have had harbor freight ones that stay outside and have had good luck with them. so this last week i bought a daytona low pro to replace my lincoln and bought a pittsburg low pro to stay outside.

Just replaced my 25 year old Craftsman with at 2.5 ton low profile aluminum Harbor Freight unit. I was skeptical of HF, but it’s solid in construction and works great. Looks identical to other house brand jacks I’ve seen too, so I suspect there’s some white labeling going on.

My NAPA pro series just crapped out, I'll bet I didn't use it half a dozen times, pretty disappointed in it but I here from others that the quality of them is horrible in recent years......

Napa changed jack supplier, here in last year or so. I have one of their newest 3.5 ton (all steel), not sure what you o think, good so far. 6 year old, same jack is hanging in there.
The only floor jack that was In shop, when I started 10 years ago was a low profile Napa2.5 ton. If he never liked it. Takes a lot of force to make it work. The 3.5’s are much easier to use.

I bought an Arcan 3 ton jack at Costco 6-7 years ago. It's a hybrid, part aluminum, part steel. It has double piston pumps and from my experience, it is tough as nails. Mine has been in the mud, left outside in the rain, basically torture tested by me. If I was going to buy another jack, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one again.

I bought mine at Costco and I linked to the current listing they have. The price is about double of what I paid for it, I believe I paid $109, they're now $214.

I use mine to lift my dually, my IH wrecker. My other jack won't lift the wrecker, and will only lift one corner on the dually. It works just as good today as it did the day I bought it home, I haven't added any hydraulic oil since I bought it.

The retaining pin for the handle is spring loaded so the handle comes off much easier than threaded ones do. It has a foam sleeve on the handle so you won't mar a car if the handle bumps it. Light enough that you can pick it up and load it into a truck or car trunk, has handles on both sides that are easy to grab for lifting.

I've owned a bunch of floor jacks over the years, I believe I like this one over all the others I've owned, or used, Hein Werner, Walker, etc. Seems like a lot of engineering went into it, and they didn't skimp on cheap junk parts.

There are cheaper jacks out there, but I think the Arcan is the best value. I really didn't expect it was going to be as good as it's been, I was pleasantly surprised though. Not many products that I say that about anymore. Amazon and HD sell their products too.

I like the floor jacks with the Viagra feature...

Another vote for the 3 ton "Daytona" jack from HF. Very nice jack for the money, freakin heavy in steel though.

The most common failure on hydraulic jacks is failed seals, then the fluid leaks out. There's plenty of YouTube vids on how to rebuild them if that's your problem.

Definitely not portable though.

Bought this mainly for use on the '66 but been using it on the trucks as well.
No complaints very smooth action and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Going on a year now.

My Sears Craftsman Floor Jack still pumps and holds since 1982, after about ~50 uses/year. HF might happen.

Another vote for HF Daytona.

I bought an expensive Hein Werner US made jack that failed in two years. WTF….

I have my 2 ton Hein Warner from 1974. Still works. However my local tire shop after their HW s started leaking bought HF. That's all they use now. So I bought HF low profile for TA,then anothet,then aluminum for race trailer. My 2cts.

I have 2 Harbor Freight aluminum jacks. Been good the 4yrs I've owned them.

I have this Sunex rom Summit. It's super low profile, long reach, 24" lift and only 6.5 strokes to full height.
