What is the difference in the 55 lifter from the 56 &newer?
I see they are different part numbers,
I thought the only valvetrain differences was 55 had adjustable rockers, Different rockers, studs, nuts.

I think (but have NO first hand knowledge) that the oil supply was at a different height in the lifter bore, therefore the oil supply grooves in the lifter is inn a different position.

I think those are called "lowball" lifters.If you have a later lifter check the diff of the seat.I think after talking to Nunzi years ago I used a set with longer pushrods.Tom

If the oil band is low, wouldn't SBC lifters work?

oil hole in same place,push rod cup is lower.I can measure how much if interested.Tom

Interesting the lifters I have on hand the oil hole looks in the same location although larger?The 56 looks higher than the 951s also?Tom
