Repo Hurst Wheel Issue

3 Attachment(s)
Finally getting my Repo Hurst Wheels on the car, its been a few years. Instructions say air down the tires to help get the rings seated. My rings seem seated and down but the trim ring does not sit down in the slot behind each spoke. I feel like it should go down a bit farther. I do have lead wheel weights on the front but one wheel only has one of the smallest weights and seems to be the same. I called PP and got someone who didn't care and just said put them on and wire them, sounded like Joe. Has anyone else with the repo's had this, or is it normal? Thanks.

I lost one of my original rings years ago on the highway. Tractor Trailor behind me flattened it out for me. I talked Parts Place into selling me just one. I have the SAME problem with it. If you compare the repo to an original, the outer flat ring is slightly bent inwards where the originals are strait up 90*. It looks to me that is my problem especially with the wheel weights behind them. I can tell just by looking a few feet away the reproductions from the originals.

Thanks, I guess this is as good as it gets so I will wire them on and put them on the car.
