69 Firebird Steering Linkage

1 Attachment(s)
I recently purchased a complete steering linkage for my 69 Bird from a forum member which includes the curved pitman arm idle arm assembly. Pic of assembly attached.

I already have the curved pitman arm on my car which is factory 400 PS car. When comparing the idle arm assembly, the one on my car (unknown if original) is a different shape like this: https://www.googleadservices.com/pag...gQIEhBD&adurl=

The one I just bought looks like this: https://www.googleadservices.com/pag...gQIEhBY&adurl=

Also - the one on my car, like the first link appears to be one-piece assembly versus the second link which shows bracket and idle arm as separate pieces.

A quick unassembled match up does not appear to pose any issues but I won't know till it's installed. Does someone here know which one is correct and if the one I bought will work.

The one on the table looks right. Here's my original one.

That’s a pitman arm - What does your idle arm look like?

Are you referring to the bend not being there in the -Idler- arm you got?

Oops my bad, I thought you wanted a pic of the Pitman Arm. How's this one? Hope it helps.

Thanks- the pic you posted in post #6 looks like your idle arm is also straight. Is this replacement or original?

As far as I know it's original. I've heard that it's hard to find the correct ones.
