Looking for my 1970 Trans Am

2 Attachment(s)
Back in the late 1980s I owned a 1970 1/2 Trans Am - White with Blue Stripe, Black Interior. I regretfully sold the car in 1990 and have been on the hunt for it for years! Unfortunately I do not have the VIN# but I remember selling it to a guy named Chris Jessen (still have not been able to find him to this day). I was living in Coppell, TX at the time and had put it much closer to stock when I sold it. When I purchased the car it had a 1970 455 with #12 heads on it. The car was pretty much a Nitrous Drag car with a manual steering box, drag slicks and 1/2" fuel lines. I have looked everywhere for this car but no luck. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Here are some photos of the car back in 1988-1990.

If anyone has any info or suggestions I would really love to find this one that I let get away.

Can you work backwards to get the VIN from your Texas plate 295*586?

I would consider using one of those online background check services to locate the guy. Since you have his name and a location where he lived, you should be able to find him. Costs something like 25 bucks or so. Good luck.

For $5.00 my wife was able to track down a childhood friend of my mother in laws, using the online white pages. Someone she hadn’t had contact with for over 70 years. I think it didn’t even take 5 minutes.

I seem to always end up going the more expensive, time consuming route... :)

No they don't keep records that far back.

Thanks!

It was a T400 car.

I had the plate for years.... was 295 - SBG (looked like 586). Went back to the DMV and they purged their records after 25 years or something like that. Didn't go back as as far as 1991 ish.

I ended up finding a 68 GTO 400 HO 4 speed car that I purchased and am restoring now. Gave up on finding the TA and refocused on getting the 68 GTO running. It has been sitting for 46 years (since 1977). It's a verdero green black interior coupe with no ps, no ac, no pb and 3.55s with a hood tach.
