Switched 12 volt signal

I have a 1966 Pontiac Star Chief

I need help finding a 12 volt source under the hood that turns on and off with the ignition switch but doesn't turn off power when engaging the starter. I need a 12-volt source to turn on the MSD ignition box.

If you can't find anything else connect a wire to your POSITIVE terminal of your ignition coil and use it to trigger a relay connected to your battery. It gives you a full battery voltage at all times that the car's ignition is "ON". It could also be used to power an electric choke. electric fuel pump etc.

I did a similar play on my 66 Bonnevillle to get 12V power to my HEI distributor. There is a lug on the fuse panel that is switched 12V. You can tap from that and run the wire up and out through one of the big rubber grommets in the fire wall.

A switched 12v in the fuse panel is probably not hot when starting. Would probably need to also run a wire from the starter solenoid.
