Adding fuel return line

My lemans didn’t have a fuel return line. I’m am going to use an MSD atomic fuel injection throttle body, and a robbmc surge tank that requires a return to the fuel tank

I am mounting the surge tank next to the charcoal canister on the passenger side radiator support. I’d like to retain the vent line to the charcoal canister

I’ve heard that I could use a chevelle fuel line down the passenger side, but I would have to lift the body off the frame to install it. I don’t want to mess with that because it is a convertible and all of the body panels line up really well right now.

I was thinking I might use the existing vent line as a return and then run some sort of flexible line for the vent. It’s a low pressure return, but I want to make sure I don’t have a safety issue. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to do this?

I used PTFE steel braided lines for fuel and return on my fuel inj setup.

Did you just route them along the inside of the frame rail and over the axle?

I ran both feed and return over the axle and inside the frame rail on the passenger side. The stock return line might not be big enough, most manufacturers will say to make feed and return equal size. Mine are both 8an, you might get away with 6an with high pressure FI. Get a good regulator and a fuel pressure guage you can read inside the car.

Steve, I LOVE that wheels up pic of your car!
