Hey all.

Was trying to get the ram air H/O manifolds and have 2.5 outlets, but are not being produced right now.
Question is I already bought the Pypes 2.5 down tubes. Parts place have the H/O with 2.25 outlets. Will my down pipes seal against them ?

Yes... you may have to trim the down pies to fit though.

The 2.5 manifolds are basically the 2.25s hogged out so OD at the flange is the same. I would bet they should, and probably seal better! My 2.5s were hard to seal with teh decreased surface area.

You have to trim the flange to clear the manifold studs. Don't trim too much. trim a little at a time and test the fit.

Sometimes also one of the nuts can be a pain to actually get completely tight without hitting the pipe.

What you do first is to see if you can get the downpipe flange past the studs. We make the flare a bit larger so that the customer can "customize" the pipe. You'll understand what I mean in a few minutes after reading further...

The way to do this is to use an 4" angle grinder and put the surface of the wheel onto the bell of the pipe and "smooth" down the length of the flare a little. Just go a little at a time, then try to refit the pipe to the manifold. Once you clear all 3 studs, now it's time to ensure you have a good seal to the pipe. Take a black magic marker and color the inside of the bell (where the pipe seals on the manifold). Install the pipe to the manifold and lightly tighten the flange. Go to the end of the pipe (where the system attaches) and wiggle the pipe side to side. Remove the flange & pipe from the manifold and look at your coloring. If there are any a shiny spot(s), the manifold is touching. That's what you want to see all the way around the flare. It doesn't have to be a large shiny spot... just as long as you see something.

Now if you don't see any shiny spots, that means you will have to "shave" down the flare until you do see something. Make sure you do a little at a time...
