Anyone tried the MassFlo EFI system?
|
hmmmm, no pricing.
|
A co-worker of mine uses it on his Cobra Kit Car. Driveability is good, but he claims to have an issue with the Mass air flow sensor location/design. This is causing some higher RPM issues (turbulance??) and low power numbers compared to similar engines using other EFI setups. This is just the story told to me by him, not my personal experience or opinion.

Oh they got pricing all right...$3750 for a Pontiac. Cha-Ching.

I wonder if it needs a different calibration and/or different injectors? |

He runs a programmable engine control system. He had it on a chassis Dyno and the Mass air flow reading was all over the place at higher RPM. It runs great when cruising. I think he is working on something to move th MAF sensor away from the intake to smooth out the airflow going through it. |
Cha-ching $3750 isn't that bad of a price. Butler's systems start at $3500 with no intake, distributor or coil. However they do include a fuel pump and filter. It might depend what parts you already have. You would think all the kits would be relatively the same price...they use many of the same components except for the intake and distributor.

If you are into to DIY check out Megasquirt EFI. That is the way I am going I think, you can also buy it assembled if you don't want to solder. It takes a while reading to see what it's all about but cost s good, and you also learn how to fix it yourself if needed.
Here's the FAQ page..... http://www.megasquirt.info/ |
65Mark,
I can't get your link to work for Megasquirt. Do you have another address for them? Thanks, Dave |
Worked for me?
Will be the way i go aswell. |
I think the Butler kit is the only off-the-shelf kit out there. You can assemble the same for much less as I did. I have a bunch of info on my website below.

Here ya go Dave
http://www.bgsoflex.com/megasquirt.html I hope that works for ya, there are several websites for them. They'll have stuff for the tranny too next spring? I hope they have the sequential injection and tranny done by the time I am ready for it. |
Thank You, 65Mark......I am able to access it now. Thanks for the info.
