86 Grand Prix 2+2

I just bought myself an early Xmas present. It's a 86 GP 2+2 with 40 thousand miles and it's a 20 footer. It needs a headliner.. go figure..lol and still has all of the original hoses and even the tag on the rear end pumpkin. It was repainted around 2000 and it will need to be repainted some day. And yes the seats need to reupholstered. I've always want one and I know how hard it is to find parts for this car. Been there done that with my Can Am I do need a Pontiac 2+2 emblem for the grill..yes I know good luck with that one. So now I have to put her away for the winter even before I can drive her. :(

Congrats on your purchase! We just got ours back on the road this summer. It's not a show car. But it is a nice driver, that we drive as much as possible. How about some photos.

You might try Lauren engineering, they used to have parts for these cars, good luck!

Most of them will need headliners. That was a common problem on 1980's GM cars. I have a 60,000 mile 2+2 that hasn't been on the road since 1996 from what I can see. It was hit lightly in the left front and I have most of the parts to fix it. I was going to put a 455 in it, the motor is almost done, but I think I may instead sell it and get a early 70's GTO or Trans Am instead. It is very clean, the interior is very good except for the headliner and the paint except for the top surfaces of the car are in pretty good shape. I bought this from a friend who had it sitting in his barn and never got around to fixing. My wife does not really like it and she has told me to go and buy what I want and not settle for this because I found it fairly cheap.

Does anyone know the correct color for the headline? Could it be med-gray ?

It is a grey headliner. I had my front crest hand painted on mine. Since then I found the decal a few years ago on E-bay & it wasn't cheap. The grill had a plate with decal that is also very hard to find. Good luck with it........

Other suppliers include
www.gbodyparts.com
www.maliburacing.com - a late model G body racing forum, can be a source of parts - is pretty hard to sell there
Dixie Monte Carlo
Mikes? Montes
There was/is a G body specific yard/dismantler in Georgia, guy named Kevin Burwell comes to mind.
Am sure there are others
