Crankshaft

Do you have a weight on this crank? It's new, but was it ever run? Thanks: Ken

Ken French 09-09-2010 08:11 PM

Just want to let you know, that, unlike MOST tire kickers on this sight that have short arms and deep pockets, I really am interested in this crankshaft. If you want to PM me that's fine. Just looking for a little more information on this piece before I make a decision on ordering a new one. Thanks in advance: Ken

Ken,

Sorry for the delay, I've been out of internet commission for a bit. The crank is new, just pulled out of the box for inspection. It's a standard weight crank, have not put it on the scale, my guess is around 78lbs.

This is a billet, NOT a forged crank.

Feel free to call me.

Thanks.

Calvin, Do you have any lightweight units? I notice you have quite a bit of hardware for sale and am looking for a lighter crank. Thanks: Ken

I don't have any light weight cranks for sale.

Thanks.

Correction, I found a new ultra-light weight Crower, 4.250" stroke with 3.00" mains, has a special small Honda rod 1.888" journal laying in the corner of the shop, this crank weighs about 61lbs, $2,200.00 + shipping.

Will this thing work in a '72 400 rebuild? I know I've got the 3" mains, but not sure about the 2.20 measurement? Thanks for any assistance, I'm looking to build a solid bottom end on a high performance 400 stroker.

2.2 is BBC rod end size. Cant use a STD. Pontiac rod.

4.500" stroke is pushing it on a stock block. A 4.250 stroke forged crank would work good.
Call Calvin he built me a stroker 400 (4.250 stroke X 4.210 bore with a 2.200 X 6.800 rod)that put my 3500lb GTO in the 10.20s second time out. It will be in the 9s by this time next year.
Good luck
Tom
