Maybe you should buy it as a donor car for your 67 Bonnie (or vice versa)... ;)

Not an HO car.. and highly doubt its originally from CA.

My friend looked at it. Roof is rotted pretty bad. I don't believe it has HO manifolds. YH is an HO code for 67 from what I saw but I'll bet that it is a later engine.

It’s had a lot done to it , and needs a LOT more done do it!
If it was as nice as billed, it would be nice to have. It’s not, though! |
YH isn't HO for a 67 428 376hp - it's the 360hp 428
Still a 4bolt Main Block with 670 Heads The PHS would have the EUN to prove whether it was the original block. Car isn't a California Car either - at least not as built/delivered. 67 Pontiacs sold new in California all had A.I.R. and their own separate Block Codes. 360hp Auto = Y2 376hp Auto = Y3 Doesn't completely mean it has never been to/in California though. I'm not 100% certain you could get Rally2 on a fullsize if it had Disc Brakes (from factory). I think you had to get the Disc Brake Hubcaps , which are Cool. It could be a beautiful car and looks to be drawing some bids. |

I had a '67 Bonneville that had the exact same rust in the back window and front window that was repaired and it was a NorCal farming community car all its life for 40+ years. That car was repaired before it did much of any damage to the trunk and it was gorgeous underneath and inside for sheet metal. The roof looks like it received a lot of paint from the factory despite the vinyl top, which likely saved the roof from worse rot. If you can fabricate the window channels for the rear window and patch metal, I'd say you would have a pretty nice car for not a lot of money. But if you're farming that out it's gonna be expensive if you can even find someone willing to do the work without a trowel. |

I'm not sure about (i dont know) Cats, Bonn's, etc.. For the Stamped wheel code - i don't know - might can find it later. Photos courtesy of www.gt-37.org http://www.gt-37.org/gallery/_data/i...7Perf16-xx.jpg http://www.gt-37.org/gallery/_data/i...7Perf17-xx.jpg http://www.gt-37.org/gallery/upload/...7-8ade1549.jpg But on the 67 Fullsize Order Form i have (what PHS sends out) It does not list Rally2 or Hood Tach But both were available on 2+2 and GP So there must be another revised version of the 67 order sheet or separate sheet for GP and 2+2 , or maybe listed on the Special Equipment page. The 68 Order Form does list Rally2 and Hood Tach Also states Rally2 not available with #482 (15" wheel) or #521 (Disc Brakes) http://www.gt-37.org/gallery/_data/i...d1b003f-xx.jpg |

My Apology The Automatics did not use a separate code - for whatever reason - idunno why. The Manuals DID use separate codes for AIR/Cali. Just witnessed a 67 GP 428 Sold New in Cali with AIR YH code on PHS 612 & 614 (616) Emission Codes on PHS , and AIR equipment still on the car. Zone/Dealer Code 24-100 in the LA district. State Codes = To:California (04) -//- From:Kansas (15) You can view the details/documents/car at this link : https://www.plainfieldpontiac.com/1967-grand-prix Still doesn't help build a case for the 4door Bonne being a Cali Car - no AIR pieces are present on the car. But it does open the door for higher "possibility" that it "could" have still been sold there - and all the emissions equipment removed. Y2 was Police Pkg 360hp Auto Y3 was Police Pkg 376hp Auto Anyone care to guess what would have made the Police Pkg a different Block Code ?? i will guess they used more Camshaft ? (068 Manual Camshaft) just guessing Quote:
Probably the Hood Tachs , also. Maybe they didn't make it to production - or were late - on GP & 2+2 Would need to find a PHS with #453 listed on it. None of the 67 2+2 PHS's in the new Registry have #453 listed Seems like at least 1 would so ................................... idunno The biggest oddity about the 67 Hood Tachs - they also are not listed on the 67 GTO Order Form either . Had never noticed this before. |

Or it was a car that got its engine rebuilt sometime in the last 50 years and they just did a Jasper-style core exchange or salvage yard take-out and replaced it with a generic other engine. No partial VINs in 1967 so without the P-O-P you'd never know besides seeing how close the date code are. |
The PHS will have the Engine Unit Number (number stamped by the Block Code)
As good or better than a VIN stamp - since most don't know about unique EUN codes to restamp them. Just as the PoP would have the EUN Anyone paying over 5-6k for the car should probably get a PHS on it. It's at $5400 now |
I messaged the seller and they said some online resource said YH was an HO. They now are aware it may not be.

Wallace Racing calls a YH an HO in 1967

Have a link?
I think I corrected that? |
