Reached a milestone

Soooo had an Oncology appt. today after not seeing My. Dr. at Penn Medicine in a year and a half due to Covid. 10 year anniversary being cancer free. :) all my bloodwork is perfect. I know a lot of you know my story with the Leukemia. This was very hard on me, Mike, and my Daughter Miranda, but with the support of them, and a lot of you here I am so very grateful, and thankful for being here another day. So thank you again for the encouragement and support through the last 10 years. :thanx:

Congratulations Mary Ann.

I almost made 10 years cancer free in 2015 (9.5 years), but **** happens....

After cancer surgeries in 2006, 2015 and 2017, I've been cancer free since then. Last August, my oncologist set me up for annual checkups (vs every 6 months), so hoping for good news again on August 14th.

The best news is - I'm healthier overall now than I was before I was first diagnosed in October of 2006. And I was the luckiest guy in the world to have needed emergency lung surgery in September of 2006 - as that is how my cancer was first discovered when I went in for a 30 day clean bill of health of my lung. I've joked with my surgeons that they should have used velcro instead of stitches so it would have been easier to open me up for the multiple surgeries....

Bottom line, I'm still vertical and enjoying life. Hope you are too.

Congratulations, MA, and to you, Champ, for your good news. I have a 6-month checkup in August. If I'm good then, I'll be two years cancer free. I hope to get as many 'clean' years as the two of you have. God is good.
