'72 GTO Former Hunt Stocker

5 Attachment(s)
This car may have already been mentioned here. Not gonna look for it.

The owner says it's the former Ray Hunt Stocker, which has less than 600 miles on it. Says it hasn't been raced in around 25 years.

Some of you guys are probably familiar with that car.

From the pics, I noticed it has a rear wing. Don't think the '72 model had a wing option. Assume the '71 Judge was the last one.

The asking price is $55k. At first, I decided not to post it. But, after reconsidering, taking into account the cost of nice '72 GTO's nowadays, I suppose this is not a bad price.

I reckin some would consider it a collector car. Some might take it to shows. Or ?

The guy's name is Michael Boucher, who's an elderly gentleman, in the Chicago area.

I tried to find the old add but could not find it. I like that car.

Old race cars that have provenance do have collector value.

I have one of their performance catalogs from the 80s.

If it were mine I would restore it to its racing livery. From the few pictures it appears to have some period correct racing parts. However I doubt it has its original drivetrain. A correct replacement one would be acceptable.

Neat car but IMO not worth as much as a original correctly restored HO car.
