Rear of the rear wheelwell
1 Attachment(s)
I'm wondering whether I'm missing a piece of sheetmetal that extends downward from the bottom of the rear outer wheel house/trunk floor, to the area at bottom of the trunk drop off/behind the quarter lip at the bottom. See the red line in the photo. I suspect I'm good, just want to make sure before it gets painted. The rear outer wheel house on first gens extend downward like that, maybe that's why it looks weird to me. The car has also been mini tubbed. I've been hunting for pictures on-line, but can't seem to come up with any of that particular area. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a pick of my 72 when we cut it up- I think you are missing a piece. I can take a pic of it now if you want since it’s all put back together.

You're not missing anything.

You're missing your exhaust and leaf springs and without that it does cause that area to appear barren. |

there was nothing there.
an early part that appears to have been nearly lost with time that fills this void is this: http://www.forums.maxperformanceinc....1&d=1620256321 http://www.forums.maxperformanceinc....1&d=1620256352 They were kind of like a mudflap, but attached to the inside of the quarter and trunk end. If you look for it, they are shown in the assembly manual. |

Not a great picture / lighting... but here's one of my 70 TA from the same angle as yours.
Agree with others - you don't appear to be missing anything (besides the part Jonny noted -- I'm not sure how many production cars those might have been installed on, but I've never seen one in the wild myself). |
I was thinking of the interior trunk drop offs but I guess the others are right- nothing missing.

Thanks guys! Very helpful. Keith's photo also confirms two other things I was wondering about (the small rectangular piece which connects the inner and outer wheel wells at the bottom and the notch at the bottom outside of the outer).
