1931 Pontiac 401 4 door sedan
I recently bought an original 1931 Pontiac 401 4 door sedan. It is in excellent condition and runs very well except the carb leaks fuel real bad.
I believe it is a Marvel 10-228 / 10-955 carb. I need to get it rebuilt. Does anyone on here know where I can buy parts and or buy rebuild kit for it. Or does anyone know someone that restores them or rebuilds them? |
Try board member Carbking, he runs a carburetor shop in Missouri. I believe he stopped doing rebuilds but he sells rebuild kits. https://www.thecarburetorshop.com

Worked like a charm.
Car looks beautiful! :) |
Old Pontiac looks great!
I've worked on the Marvel carb of my '17 Buick quite a lot. Although it's functionally much different from modern carbs, finding and fixing fuel leaks from it is straight forward. Only a couple of gaskets and a seal on the adjustable main jet are the main culprits. Are you sure it's a "leak"- as opposed to fuel overflowing the float chamber due to float and/or needle faults? New floats are availale, not sure about needles and seats. |
Larry Isgro on Long Island did a marvel carb for my 23 Buick years ago. https://www.yelp.com/biz/larry-isgro...retors-wantagh

I not sure but it could be the float. I will look closer at it this weekend. |
