Oil change

What does everyone do for oil changes on our collector cars, fall or spring? Or wait for a higher mileage?

I change the oil and lube the chassis once a year, usually around the end of the year, regardless of mileage driven.

Every 2000 miles, usually a couple times per yr

B4 storage, this way, you drain any moisture, acids, etc.

Same here. I like to put them to bed with nice clean oil in the pan.

Any more for American cars I use 10W-30 Mobil 1 synthetic and a new ACDelco "Professional" (no "E") oil filter when I see a slight drop in hot idle oil pressure or yearly.

And change it when the oil is warm, how warm…………

Storage is what us rust belt folks have to do to keep our cars from getting a salt bath once the weather turns cold.

Sadly, attempts at humor and nuance do not convey well with written words...

Every 2 years on the oil. It’s in a heated garage.

I will run the car to operating temperature a few times between December and March…..

I will then change the oil in April as the season starts….

Twice a year, once in the spring and then once in the late fall so they sit with clean oil all winter. I use nothing but 5W30 Mobil 1 with a big Wix filter.. No additives..
