Here are a few pictures from an all original unmolested 455 RA Formula from the Norwood plant. I took these pictures for future reference. I wish I remembered to take a picture of teh gas tank with the mfg stamp in black ink.

The car even had most of the original exhaust system except for the muffler and a portion of the head-pipe on the pass side (no pictures of exhaust).

...and a few more...notice the red (closer to brown) original oxide primer on the floors. i'm sure the color changes from year to year and batch to batch. It was really a treat to see a well preserved un-butchered original car.

US Steel stencil on the bottom of the gas tank still. Red (brown in this case) oxide primer, and mostly original exhaust system (except for the muffler and a short section at the end of the head pipe on the pass side. Alittle bit of scrubbing and some Evaporust to clean up the surface rust and it would be nice. Maybe Bentwheel Bob and MPD have extra time on their hands to take on another project (haha).

Looks nice. My SD is 39k still has original exhaust. Not cut up. The car was rust proofed ,1st month with a grease type rust proofing. It's still soft. Blue Paint was bad when I first got it,still not perfect. They talked about repainting when new I said no.

Actually...

this is the very first unrestored car I've seen with the "USS" U S Steel stamping on the bottom of the gas tank. Every one I've dealt with has been on the topside. Anyone else have an original stamped on the bottom?

Ascot Silver?
Late in the model year? Looks to have an Introl oil pressure transducer (sender).

Do you have pictures of the rare RA A/C oil tube?
I'd also like to see how it compares to the SD unit, if yours has A/C Bob.

HFR, The dipstick tube did attach to the rear upper AC bracket. I'll get a picture of it the next time I see the car (soon I hope).

HFR, Here is the dip stick tube connector on the Formula; the uber-rare original flattened heat stove elbow on the driver snorkle to fit the valve cover (someone needs to repop this one correctly); and the RA Boot assembly.

Your welcome Lloyd. I wish it was mine! Not too bad for a southern Ohio car. A lot of the bare metal has surface rust form sitting sooo long in a garage (since 2000?).

74 was the first year for the darker, almost brownish primer bath. I have a section of a dash that represents this color perfectly. It was the section where the dash speaker mounts.

Didn't know that Bob. It is brown for sure, no red at all. This is an 01C build car (3rd wk of Jan. 1971).
