Anyone else ever check out Pontiac Pickers on Facebook? I still haven’t figured out why PY rotates my phone pics!

I-phone or Android?
Take the pic with phone upright or sideways?

Never been to that facebook page. (not on it much anyway)

Is that a WT7 Judge? (real Judge?)

iPhone 7. This was taken upright. I have problems sideways too. I’ve not tried turning on the orientation lock to see if that makes any difference. Very frustrating because it’s only on PY which is the best Pontiac site!
Judge yes, WT7 no. Arlington car, no build sheet, there are remnants of blue instead of the black WT7 stripes.

Seems most are from Iphones. Think it probably is a setting they have that doesn't differentiate 'up' or width/height in the pic parameters.
Never had an Iphone so don't know anything about their settings.
My Android I think had something about it somewhere, but has been a long time since I did it.


Anyway, I usually send it to my paint type program to make sure of the orientation and sometimes to shrink the pic.

Cool stuff , and honest reporting gets high marks.

All the Documented 1970 WT7 cars have been from the Pontiac Plant.
Even all the Documented 1971 WT7 cars.

As in, none from Arlington as of the year 2020.
I think Fred may have been misaligned on his chart/graph when he stated all were built in Arlington for 1970.

Interesting, I don’t know much about them. I did read the article from Patrick Smith. Don’t know what’s good and bad info. 😁

I did notice that BVZ was given credit in the Smith article.

That article refers to a Canadian built (Oshawa) 1970 WT7 car. It also seems to incorrectly indicate that only WT7 Judges had the blacked-out scoops.

I forgot that car was built in Canada and sold in US
- my mind was thinking it was the opposite, built US - sold Canada.

Still waiting for docs on another Ram4 WT7 car that has the Buildsheet, and an eye witness who saw the Buildsheet.
I forgot which plant it comes from - but it wasn't Arlington

Mr. Smith usually transposes some of those articles from data/info obtained from threads here on PY.
Sometimes things get shuffled a little in the mix of transposing from here, to there.

The one family owned white ‘70 Judge in the first pic of the thread has moved on to a new owner. It was purchased new by John P. in 1970 and sold to me by Johnnie P. in 2020. Low option car that needs a lot of work. Number matching engine but not the 4-speed. I have the original rear end but it’s not on the car. It was driven hard until the early ‘80’s. Jan. ‘70 is on the door sticker. The 7040273 carb. and 1112010 dist. both have a date code in July ‘69. Alternator and starter are not original.

Too bad it does not appear to be a WT7 Judge; but still a great find.

Would be interesting to see if any WT7 cars were actually built in Arlington but so few have been documented.

Any Oshawa built WT7 can be documented without the build sheet as the Canadian documents show the RPO code.

Patrick Smith lives not far from me but I have only ever spoken with him briefly when purchasing some parts from his neighbour.

Thanks for fixing the pic. I’ve found a crude way to make them rotate correctly in the future.

Here’s the story on the car. In ‘97 I ran a wanted ad for a ‘70 Judge in the KC Star. A teenager called and said he had one we could look at. My Pontiac buddy Gordon and I went to look at it. The guy didn’t want to sell but we discussed what he had. His dad bought it new and in the mid 90’s it turned into a father son project. The dad was killed in a car wreck in ‘96. The project had stalled and I think he just wanted to talk about it with someone. Fast forward 23 years and the son advertised it on Pontiac Pickers. It was a local car so I sent it to Gordon who remembered the car. We looked at it and I bought it. It was in the same place it was 23 years ago. It didn’t look much different, Gordon and I not so much.☹️

The widow and her son seeing the Judge that had been in their family for 50 years rolled out of their garage for the last time.

Now that is one helluva story.

Sad story about the Dad.
Almost surprising they finally sold it after waiting so long.

Reasons for selling were the classic ones. Johnnie had another project and wanted to build a shop. First and foremost his mom wanted her garage back!

Besides the car I got the complimentary truck load of parts that long term owners often accumulate.

We couldn’t find the lower RA pan. When unloading the truck I dug through the boxes and found the air cleaner lid. Nested inside the lid were the remnants of the lower pan. I’m starting a parts wanted list. One of the 11/25/69 JT wheels is bent. The deck lid will be replaced.

The Judge had not been driven in three years. He drove it to a local car show but could not drive home. It would not crank so they rolled it down a hill and started it using the clutch. He bought a new starter, never installed it and then the car sat. I checked out the starter circuit. The ignition switch had been replaced and required adjustment. I yard drove it Saturday.

I’m in the middle of a ‘72 Firebird rotisserie restoration. Haven’t been able to spend much time on the Judge. There was some valve train noise under the LH valve cover. Turns out there were some bent push rods and broken rocker arms. Pulled the engine and heads. 3 valves were stuck in the LH head. It’s amazing the car would run and idle as good as it did. The heads are at the machine shop getting checked out. Hopefully I can get it drivable soon.
