It's not very often that I am so IMMENSELY SATIFIED with something that I feel the need to let everyone know about it, but this time I must!
Before with incandescent bulbs https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1651498885 During process, one still incandescent on left HVAC bulb https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1651498960 All 10 bulbs changed out https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1651498960 For $50 you can now see all the gauges, even in full sunlight! And they are dimmable! Thank you SuperBrightLEDS.com Charles |
Cool. My interest is peaked. How was the installation? Which "color temperature" did you go with?
|
wow that's really bright...nice upgrade
|
Please share the bulb part numbers that you used. The LEDs look great!

It's really easy on their website, put in your car and select the matching original bulb number you are looking for!
https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1651516433 My 67 GTO had 1895's, which converts to their number "BA9S-CWHP5: Cool White" Charles |

BTW, you are looking at the ONLY Rally gauge set with a Voltmeter in place of the Red Battery warning lamp!
He He! Not easy, but "Can't Never Could"! Cannot find the thread, but this what I used, https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1651517462 https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1651517583 |
Any chance you could take a pic at the dimmest setting? Looks great in full bright but at night it would distract me I'm afraid.
|
Not just now, it's at my son's house 100 miles distant.
But I can tell you they dim down very low to 6 volts before the cut off. Very very low luminance. Maybe I can get my son to snap one at night for us. |

I was worried about them being too bright for me at night. On my newer vehicles I drive at night with them at the lowest setting so I'm not blinded. With this setup, I didn't dim them at all while driving at night, I guess because it is an "around the dial" lighting and not shining directly at you. But just to show the difference, I went in the shop with the lights out and took a pic at full brightness and the lowest brightness, just before they went out completely.

That last post (#9) is from my son Steven, whom I handed off my 67 GTO a few months ago after 55 years of ownership.
That should alleviate any fears of them being too bright at night! Charles |
Perfect! Thanks for the post.

Thanks for your very helpful post, Charles! As an old guy with old eyes, I can't imagine having my gauge lights "too bright".
|
I recently replace all my panel lights with LEDs. Just basic Phillips brand from Rock Auto ... they ended up about halfway between your "bright" picture and your "Dim" picture. But .. they don't dim .. they just turn off when you turn them down. Still .. vast improvement over the OEM bulbs.

Where in hell would we be without your intelligence and wisdom Charles? This LED dash lights post is top shelf. Thanks from me too.
OH....tell them about the LED taillights and parking lights too. ;)  |
Maybe, better off?

I have done the same thing with my 1976 Firebird. I used the Phillips bulbs from Rock Auto also. I really like them. I have done all of the lights on my car except the headlights. They are too expensive, so far.

What is the best way to get to the bulb between the signal light indicator and the high beam indicator on a 67 GTO with AC? I have changed all the other bulbs using the Super Bright LED’s from the post. What a difference!…. Just need to do this one last bulb. Any suggestions are appreciated.
