Wanted to buy genuine 1973 pontiac trans am

Hi there everybody, i hope you and your families are all well and good in these trying times. My name is scott and iam in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. I have just joined the group today and i was wondering if anyone may be able to please help me find a nice genuine rust free and original condition 73 TA either in buccaneer red or brewster green with a black interior and 4spd manual gearbox with rally wheels. I know that they never made alot of these cars and now they are very desirable and hard to find. Iam genuine in wanting to purchase one as they are my dream car. I would arrange all shipping and paperwork and secure payment to the seller. Thankyou for reading my message and i hope you all stay well and safe and have a great day. Kindest regards scott. I truly hope someone can help me My budget for the car is $55k usd. Will that buy me one?

This one is just out of your range but it's been for sale for quite a while:

'73 is also my dream car however I settled for a '74 as they are somewhat cheaper or plentiful by comparison.

Hi there again, thanks for letting me know about the TA on autobuy. It's a beautiful beast and i stretched my budget and offered the seller 60k but it wasn't enough. For him to accept. Hopefully with help from kind people like yourself i might get lucky and find my 73 TA. Thankyou again and you and your family take care and stay well and safe. Kindest regards scott.

That's too bad...for that kind of $ I would want to see it in person or at least have someone else inspect it

If I see another one I will let you know.

Good luck!

These guys do hi-dollar restorations - not sure the reserve on this one:

Looks like it petered out at 47k and didn't meet reserve.

Who could afford it anyways lol...

/\/\ they do high dollar restorations, but it reads as though their quality of work is all over the place;
I have seen cars they did get high praise here, while others get picked apart to death.

If a 1973 is out of your budget, I'd earnestly suggest doing like 'buzzo did an look into a 1974;
The biggest difference (besides front and rear ends) was that the base drivetrain changed from:
1973
standard: 'L75' 455 with either a TH400 or Muncie four speed
optional: SD455 with either a TH400 or Muncie four speed
to
1974
Standard: 'L78' 400 with either a TH400 or Muncie four speed
optional: 'L75' 455 (TH400 only)
optional: SD455 with either a TH400 or Muncie four speed

From the drivers seat, they would drive and look identical.
and while the 1971-1976 'L78' 400's don't get the same accolades that their larger displacement brothers do, they can be just as fun.
