Re torquing of head bolts

What’s the proper procedure to re torquing heads with arp studs with iron heads ? Do you just set to torque wrench to 100# and follow the sequence or do you loosen the nuts first ? I am running cometic gaskets .

Loosen the nuts one at a time about 1/8 turn then retorque in sequence.
