Exhaust model to test fit TD system
So while my car has been down waiting for opti to get rebuilt, I continued considering my exhaust.
I havent been happy with it for a while, so I was going to rebuilt the Y, and call it a day, but one of my coworkers (builds dirt track cars) said he would fab up a true dual system for me. Anyways, being an engineer, I got under there and took tons of measurements, both from the car and the existing exhaust. I then got on ProE and built a solid model to see what bends and pipe lengths I would need, and also to test fit everything, so we can mock it up faster. So I finally finished up. The system is basically a clone of the Kooks 3" system, BUT I used 2.5" pipe and the mufflers are sweet thunders 18" long, and of course my FLP headers use a Vband flange. Here are the results http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...bly_45_456.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...mbly_45_45.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...bly_45_455.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...bly_45_454.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...bly_45_452.jpg |

Nice 3d model,I thought about running duals myself but the rear suspension has some tight areas. So I just left my 3" slp exhaust on.

where is that picture? between the panhard? Anyways, I have the panhard relocation kit from UMI, so I dont have the usual fitment issues. The only place I am a little worried about is the tunnel brace |

ok so I got under the car yesterday and took more measurements and refined my design.
I had made a few assumptions, and a few were good, and a few were bad. So here is the revised model, I will post up portions of the model so someone can hopefully turn my drawings/model into an actual system. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1..._45_45rev1.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1..._45_45rev2.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1..._45_45rev3.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1..._45_45rev4.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1..._45_45rev5.jpg |
