I haven't driven this car in....

I haven't driven this car in car in over 20 years.
I changed the oil put a battery in it, put a little gas down the carb and it started right up. I let it warm up and and drove it for about 10 miles. It did everything just like I remembered when I drove it regularly as far as shifting and handling. It does need a brake work, it seems like a caliper is sticking a bit. My younger son (25 yrs. old) thought it was blast to drive. I've owned this car since before he was born but he has never had any interaction with it. His everyday car is an 83 C10 Stepside so he has old car fever too. Attachment 566267 Attachment 566268 Attachment 566269 Attachment 566270 Attachment 566271 |

I thought the jambs looked like it was probably that color.
Juniper is the right name Jupiter sounds better though. lol Have not come across many cars that color i ""think"" there might be an HO Formula in another country that is Juniper owned by a PY member, but i might be wrong about his color. Here are a couple of GTO's in Juniper Green https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1620658696 https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1620658696 |
Awesome car, Frankie. Killer color, too. She's going to look fantastic when you get done. And that '72 grille - my favorite !!

i don't remember who introduced that color on here as Juniper. It all started with the restored 72 GTO i pictured, when it was discussed years ago. I need to go back and change the file names or i will call it that forever. Turns out Juniper Green is a very very dark olive green shade Jupiter Green would be a super cool name - not sure if it exists yet :D I don't know if it was a "Spring Color" that cost extra on all cars Or if it might have been a Firebird Only color It was $113 extra charge on a GTO Have not seen an invoice for a JULEP Bird https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1620747244 |
cool you have hung on to it all these years. where did it sell new?

There was a 1972 Formula 455HO, four speed, a/c car for sale in Northern California about five years ago that was originally Julep green. It needed a complete restoration but it would have been a nice car to restore. Sadly, it was priced too high and lots of the original stuff was long gone, so it would have cost a fortune to restore. It had a 350 with a saginaw four speed in it when I inquired about it. I don't know what ever became of it, but there was at least one other Julep green car out there.

The DuPont paint chips back in that era were done with ink colors made to look like semi-close representatives of the colors.
I sold DuPont automotive paint products in early/mid 80's and the chips were still done using inks up to that point in time. A shame you missed out on the 1-800-PONTIAC free invoices in the later 80's. For about 2 or 3 years they did them for free 1969 - through that current year. When PHS started out with it, it was $25 iirc |
