Tri-power Accelerator Pump linkage
62 Tri-power w/out auto transmission linkage.
Could someone please post some close-up photos of the correct configuration for the accelerator pump linkage on the end carbs. Thanks, Les |

Here is a '65 and '66 setup with the accelerator pump rods configured for "normal" altitudes above sea level. In higher altitudes, the top of the pump rod should be in the hole further away from the pump lever shaft.
I see so many Tri-Powers at car shows with the incorrect setting. The configuration shown in the pictures gives a stronger shot of gas for the end carbs when opening the throttle. Engineers determined that, at higher altitudes, a lesser shot of gas was needed. |
1963 and earlier Tripower end carbs (and some early 1964) have accelerator pump levers with only one hole from factory.

I was just going to mention that my pump levers only have one hole.
Thank for the pics Dick. Just to be sure, both rods enter the pump levers from the outside and the throttle plate levers from the inside. Both rods appear the be the same, only used end for end.. Is that correct? Thanks, Les |
On second look, it appears that the front rod enters both levers from the outside..
The rear rod enters the pump lever from the outside and the throttle lever from the inside. |

Yes, there is only one hole for the pump rod on the early end carbs., That hole gives exactly the same pump stroke as the one closest to the pump lever shaft on ‘64 and newer end carbs. |
