Missing Car

Stupidest thing I ever did selling car for 1,500.00 in 1982

At least you sold it and hopefully it lives still! I wish I would not have parted out some of the cars I did! Do a DMV search by state, start in Joisey and work outward. My buddy just found his dads mustang he bought new in 1990 in South Carolina.

Still Looking

The car was a 4 speed - black vinyl roof - power steering - power drum brakes

No infromation on VIN unfortunately

maybe crazy

Do you think you can reverse engineer and get a vin from a last registration address in 1982 NEW JERSEY of a 1970 GTO?

I sold the car in 1982 and have pictures but no vin. Even a Maaco paint job quote from 02/08/1982 They did not put the vin down.

I thought maybe from my registration address in NJ some how a vin could be found in DMV NJ

Probably a long shot but there are some great detectives out there

Possibly with a vin a comprehensive search might reveal something

AS Always Thanks in advance.

Maybe check with the insurance company you used. They'll have the vin listed on your policy.

It's a good idea. Also, the DMV keeps a record of every vehicle you’ve registered under your license number, even if you’ve moved out of state and have a new driver’s license. They’ll be able to provide you with the VIN number by showing your license.

As a Nj resident, Nj dmv claims they don’t keep dmv records past 7yrs. I’ve tried to get them to look up records in the past

Thanks

Thanks 64srule I did not think NJ kept records back to 1982 1981 1980 1979

I will keep looking and who knows maybe one day someone may appear who knows

I know this is an old post. I am over in Freehold and will keep an eye out, now that I am back going to some shows.
