Holley, MS3 or a little of both? Boosted Pontiac

I'm building a boosted T/A, similar to R70 Judge. I was also looking to go Holley Terminator X but saw some posts about MS3Pro Ultimate and jumped over to the DIYautoTune site.

I like the "simplicity" of the Holley system, especially the distributor, but the MS3Pro seems to have more expandability(seems that way) but I'm no expert.

Question, Is there a way to use the Holley distributor with the MS3Pro? I want to avoid an external crank/cam sensor.

Also, knowing what you know now, what would you use to build a boosted FI Pontiac?

IA2, 4.255 bore, 4' scat forged crank, 455cid, 9.5:1, E85, standard Speedmaster heads, single plane port efi manifold, 1000cfm 4150 throttle body, 120lb inj, LSM turbo cam 250 dur, 118LSA, 600lift, SS 2.5in turbo headers, single T88 T6, TH400. 15lbs boost, HP 800-1000 at this time. "street" 76 T/A

Thanks

I believe it is possible to use the various dual sync distributors for your crank/cam signal. Do a search here for settings to use this.

The manuals are also available on the site. That being said, no matter which ecu you use, I think it's worthwhile to use a crank trigger wheel to read directly from the crankshaft. This will provide more accurate timing data, which is important in all applications, but especially boosted. You will get timing shift due to timing chain stretch with the distributor method.

For that sort of engine I wouldn't even consider a distributor if you're planning on driving it on the street, which would be easy with good engine management and e85/flex fuel and a good set of LS3 coils.

Everyone knows I was a big Megasquirt guy, but have now gone Haltech without any regrets. DBW is a beautiful thing :D

MS will now accommodate dbw, albeit with a third party interface. You're uptown now with the Haltech!

Thanks for the input/link. I like the LS coil deal. The MS3 coil kit looks pretty good.

Just fyi, 10% off at DIYAutotune. If you've decided on the Ecu now's a good time to save.
