F60-15 Polyglas GT's Finally Back in Production

If anyone else has been waiting on these, they are finally back in the pipeline. I've had a set on order since last November from Kelsey Tire. They're $350 each now.

Best looking tire imo

This is my first time to buy these modern repops and I have to say I'm impressed so far. I have my original, never mounted spare and comparing it to this new tire, everything looks identical.

Nice that they're available again.
The openings inside the letters/numbers are smaller to varying degrees on the re-pop vs. the original. But that's really picking nits. Nice that we can get these at all!

Good to hear, I've been waiting just a couple of months for my silver car's set so hoping they make a large run to fill all the back orders.

Got a set from Kelsey tire last year. Great looking, terrible driving tire. I have F60s on Rally IIs and Goodyear Eagle RS-As on honeycombs. It’s a pleasure to drive the radials. The Polyglas are good for shows. Enough said.

I had a set on my car for one summer a few years ago. They do look great but took them of and sold them because I drive my car.

They are a show car Tire period. Radial Tuned Suspension was just that a new style Tire.
Cheers

Can you read the big white letters printed on the tread of the original tire? The reason I ask is, I have the original build sheet of my 72 T/A. In the "tire" box is UDDL. I know they are different years but wondering what the code is.

If anyone has an original unused F60x15 spare from a 72, wonder what that code is. Would also be interested in the code if they are Firestone's.

70TA-RAIII 09-11-2022 10:45 AM

Yes there is a code in the tread. It looks like it repeats 3 or 4 times around the tire.

I believe it is JDDL or possible JBDL. I think there was some smearing in the middle of the first D making it look like a B. Hard to know for sure.

Here it is:

Does anyone have an original build sheet to a 70 T/A? Curious if JBDL is in that window. My Build sheet also shows quantity of 5. Someone must have a 70 build sheet.

70TA-RAIII 09-11-2022 03:59 PM

Bingo! It is JBDL. I found a 70 Z/28 build sheet in my records. They used the same tires as the T/A. It's in box 93. Will post it. Learn something new every day!

Here's the 70 Z/28 build sheet. If someone has a 70 T/A build sheet, please post it. It would have a lot of other more applicable info than the Z/28 sheet. This at least shows the correct tire code that matches my original spare.

COOL! That's what I thought we would see. Because it has "5", it also had a full size spare.

Here's my build sheet of a 72 T/A. I don't know if it would have Firestones or Goodyears on it. That's why I was wondering if anyone has an original spare that never saw the ground.

Great info! Now you've got me wanting to see a 70 T/A build sheet, and you need to see a new 1972 tire. :)

I must be having a brain fart in my old age. This issue was discussed in 2019 on here. Do a search for "UDDL" and read that thread. I was thinking this sounded familiar and searched myself.

70TA-RAIII 09-12-2022 08:54 PM

I've read thru that thread before but probably wasn't paying attention to the tire stuff. Looks like the UDDL in that thread is on a Firestone Wide Oval. Wonder if the code was the same for a Polyglas?

Also just noticed that the code on the tread is also located in the stamping in the side of the tire. In my case JBDL
