Suspension Advice in July-August Newsletter

Was reading the July-August newsletter and came across a suggestion regarding improving the rear suspension on the 63's. It said to install a 3/4" aluminum spacer between the differential and the subframe to improve the suspension geometry. Just a little fuzzy as to exactly where to put the spacer block. Between the crossmember and the body ? Between the differential case and the short crossmember that bolts to the trans mounts ? One way moves everything downward and the other just moves the transaxle, but will affect the spring compression height and swing arm angle. Just wondering.

Sorry for the confusion. This was supposed to be mainly for the 61-62 cars to improve the handling in hard fast turns. It will help the 63's a bit but not much as most of the 61-62 handling issues were corrected with the 63 model year.. The spacer should be bolted in between the top of the differential & the cross member it hangs off of. What this does is drop's the entire transaxle down & tilts the top of the rear tires in at the top a little. That way when you do a quicker turn, the rear tires don't tuck under as much & more rubber stays in contact with the roadway.
