T3 Headlights, any Value?
Hi all
I recently acquired some parts from a gentleman that restored some Pontiacs and he saved a lot of things. I have some T3 headlights that are supposed to be good as he checked them before removal. Most are 2 prong High beam but may have a couple of low/high combo. Are these worth anything to anyone or should I just trash them? Thanks for the insight |
Don't trash them! They definately have collector value.
I don't know what the going rate is, but someone on eBay is bound to pony up near 'market value'. Or try craigslist. If you don't do internet selling, bring 'em to a swap meet. I'd test them all with jumper wires to a battery to verify which ones worked. |
I shouldn't say collector value by themselves, as much as they add value to concours restorations on period cars.

I would only have a T3 or reproduction T3 on a correct appearing or properly restored car.
Anything else and a complete turnoff. Especially those new lame HOLLEY lights. |
Good used T3 bulbs go for $25+ each usually.....
|
They changed the T3 logo periodically, so you can determine their approximate age. There are links online that show the different styles.

IMO If you're after a correct look, I recommend these;
LINK> https://www.lectriclimited.com/lighting-fuse-flashers I can't see anyone paying $25 for an old bulb, but as they say... |
You pay $25 for 1 because Lectric only sells new repop bulbs in sets of 4...

The assembly line T-3’s have a inked date code on the back side of the bulb.

Run the headlight GND wires to the Alternator Case rather that the Rad Support for BRIGHT T-3 performance.
