Talking strictly about reducing bounce, wouldn't shocks closer to 50/50 be needed?

mysticmissle 01-15-2024 06:21 AM

Agree you have our grown you’r shocks look into Viking or strange double adjustable and then you can stiffen the compression so
It won’t bounce and unload the car once it lands

The strange single front I have Have a set bump of a 90/10 - so will the strange doubles be stiffer?

Afco off the shelf bnc valving shocks will fix the problem. Me personally, I would stay away from the qa-1/strange single adjustable. The valving in those are too inconsistent.

Does the rear seem to hit the tire too hard?

I run Viking. They helped out a lot with that.

Slow the rebound a click or two in back, tighten the comp on the front if u can, if u cant, get some good DA shocks and don't look back, I agree
with john some afco bnc would work!

AFCO BNC shocks for sure and you need to address your bump steer also. Global west makes a nice steering arm that virtually eliminates it. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gls-ss-6472gskb

Actually - I changed the steering arms with the global west arms.

X3 AFCO BNC shocks. Most all the Super Stock racers and bigger wheelstanding bracket cars I have seen run them.

I've been really pleased with my Viking Crusader hybrid coilover setup. I worked with Mike Proulx at Viking to pick out spring rate and shock valving. I was skeptical of the 350 lb springs he recommended, but he nailed it! Previously, I had Moroso trick springs and Calvert 90/10's. Street manners are much better. No bouncing and the car settles down to normal ride height about 200 ft down the track. Also, they are about 19 lbs lighter (11.5 lbs compared to 30.5) than the Moroso/Calvert setup.

I tried the Afco BNC shocks and they were very stiff on the compression. Made the car bounce worse than the shocks I had on it. Get the Afco double adjustable shocks.
