Using a 2-Speed Wiper Switch With Pulse Motor

So I'm trying to work out how to use the original 2-speed wiper switch from my 77 Firebird with a pulse wiper motor. I don't want the pulse feature, I just happen to have this motor, but the wiring is stumping me.

Without connecting the pulse wire, I can make the motor go on low and high speed just fine, but the wipers don't return to their starting position when I move the switch to off, nor do they park. They just kinda stop in the middle of their sweep as if I'd turned the engine off suddenly. It seems the motor requires the pulse wire to be connected to "something" for the motor to know where to finish the sweep and then park the wipers, but I'm not sure what that "something" is.

Can anyone help? Could I just fake it with a resistor or something?

If you ran a 1MΩ pot in the dash; green wire and ground you would get the variable sweep.
