New 11-bolt water pump on the block at JEGS

Can't say I've seen this one, yet: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/5108...kaAgcwEALw_wcB

Says it's a new product, that impeller looks pretty nice, and I like how they cast a twisted look the housing casting to differentiate it.

I just put a brand new Flowkooler 11-bolt on my car, so who wants to give this new thing a shot??

I don’t get the whole twisted look idea doesn’t seem to add anything Don’t know it has any cooling benefit over the milodon or others
I am happy to see the aftermarket supporting Pontiac’s though.

So many other oarts we need more though than duplicates.

Like a proper 69 bird license plate bracket.

I recently installed this new Jegs pump.
Aluminum body, composite, (plastic), impeller.
Came with two gaskets and a new plate. Has two sets of pulley attach holes, one for Pontiac and the other for Chevy (I guess).
No issues installing it. I did the usual plate clearance mod, cools fine

Thanks so much for posting and letting us know! Looks like a nice pump. How was the clearance initially with the included plate?

And a composite impeller, huh? That's interesting. That's one way to prevent corrosion, and most OEM impellers on modern cars are actually plastic/composite... that's definitely a first for Pontiac water pump options, though.

Not all parts are created equal, but after all the years of problems that BMW experienced with using composite impellers in water pumps, I personally would steer clear of any water pump that doesn't use a metal impeller. The composite impellers can crack and sheer off from the shaft, leaving you without coolant flow and an engine that's going to overheat. It was a major debacle for BMW, which is the other automotive universe I'm involved with. This is of course a different design, but composites become brittle with age and heat. Given this is an $84 product presumably manufactured in China, one has to wonder how it will hold up. Time will tell.

Didn’t measure it, but it was probably .080-.100 clearance initially
