What's the scoop on 68 bucket seat plastic

I need replace all the plastic on my front buckets. I see kits on ebay from The Parts Place now for like $180. Anyone tried them. Looks like they may be molded in the right color instead of the dyed stuff, not sure.

Doesn't appear they are PUI ... can't find them in the catalog. Photos don't show the back side so can't tell if they are painted/dyed.

Interior is Legendary ... put I'm not real concerned on the color match since the plastic didn't match very well from the factory either.

Any opinions?

I bought mine from Ames. Seems to be a good fit but I haven't put them on yet.

Just did my '68 buckets. Everything came from Legendary to recover/rebuild them. They were that green/gold color and I switched to the metallic parchment. I am real happy with the results.

Don't know if these pics will help, but this is them. The plastic seat bottom surrounds & backs have the metallic in them, more so than the covers. They are also a slight bit brighter white than the material, but from what I have read of originals, the shades are not exact even when new from the factory. Maybe black might be?

I checked the Legendary website and I couldn't find the plastic parts. I'll look again. Could be because I was filtering for their "Willow Gold" or Ivy Gold to us 68 owners.

Initially I'm hoping to find solid color pieces in Ivy Gold ... not sure if that's possible, might have to be the dyed type.

This ebay item is what I've been looking at ... price is kind of hard to beat, included free shipping. Lately it seems like some of the repop stuff is coming out so fast a lot of the vendor websites haven't caught up yet.

The Chrome trim around the panel edges may be of the cheaper variety. It is glued into place rather than snapped. In the hot weather the glue oozes out.

The good panels have a lip on the edges for the snap on chrome trim. The factory style snap on trim is $89 from Ames or $119 with the chrome end caps that came on the 68s.

I notice in the ad it mentions the trim as correct molded chrome instead of rolled chrome trim .... sure looks like my original pieces have rolled chrome trim. Possible I could salvage the trim from my originals. Wonder who is making them for Ames.

I ordered the set off ebay, I'll review them when they come in. I think the difference in the trim they are talking about is ... "molded" trim is molded in the shape it needs to be installed on the seat, "rolled" trim is like the chromed plastic door edge guard that comes in rolls and you unroll it and push it on.

Can't remember who I got mine from but they have been good for the 5 or 6 years they've been in place. They came with the chrome trim and no issues at all there.
I need to pull mine back off to paint them. I wanted them to have a while to get 'molded' into place as I didn't want to 'wrassle' with them getting the screws lined up and all that with fresh paint on them.

I posed in the interior section about the new seat plastic I bought. The short summary, the stuff is excellent.
