Same T56 Tremec tranny. Different ratios but basically the same unit in a different case.

I know this is addressed to Mr_GTO but Tremec is Tremec Corp. They now own BorgWarner who make automotive transmissions, including the T56. The T56 is a close ratio performance 6 speed transmission.

BTW: Not all T56s are the same. The GTO gear ratios match the Z51 (designed for quicker acceleration than the T56 used in the standard 'vette) in gears 1-4 and 6th. Fifth gear is a closer ratio to fourth than in the Z51. The GTO also has a 3.46 final compared to the Z51s 3.42 final.
