I am ready to replace my carpet as well. I was wondering about using Dynamat (or equivelant) under the carpet of my conv. for better sound deadening.

I used the product from Fatmat and was thrilled with the result. My doors have a heavier solid "Thud" upon closing, no rattles, MUCH less road noise, easy to install and cheaper than most other products. I can talk comfortably with my wife while cruising with the top down, Flowmasters rumbling, and ball game on the AM at 65mph.

At the risk of being laughed off this forum, I used four .75 cent asphalt roofing tiles smooth side down and they work great. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...s/icon_eek.gif

Hey, I like that idea! You see, I'm restoring a driver on a poor man's budget. Besides, once I'm done it will be up for sale. It makes sense what you did since original underlayment is made of tar material anyway. Great idea and suggestions guys. Thanks..
