Is it possible to get any Pontiac oil Pan for my 66 389 engine?
I was looking on E-bay and I did see this nice chrome oil pan (yeah..me like crow..like shiny things..lol) But will it fit? I was told that there is something with the dipstick tube that might not fit? Hope you can give me some more info on this... Thanks!!! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif Oh, What the..? darn!! I guess I should have kept my bike!! |

Yes, you can use them and they will fit if it states it's for your size 389/400. Problem is with the Chrome ones that I have seen they are pretty cheap and the edges that contact the block are not straight. The ones I have seen are made in China or somewhere else overseas. I would go with an old original in good shape or go to the aftermarket shops....

I'll go along with Brad on this one. Get yourself a good clean stock one and have a reputable Chromer do it........Gary

Forget the chrome oil pan. No fun polishing chrome that is difficult to get at. Guaranteed to rust where you can't polish it between the pan and front crossmember. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...icon_frown.gif
