Hello Pontiac enthusiast's,
As many of you already know, we have a new Pontiac cylinder head design that flows 400+ cfm out of the box. Our Tiger cylinder head is being cast from 356 aircraft grade aluminum and heat treated to a T-6 rating for strength. We have had a few casting issues and are working to clear these up before releasing our new Tiger heads. We want to provide a quality product to the racer and we are willing to wait a little longer to make sure that happens. I know many of you are impatient, but let me assure you that the wait will be worth it. Obviously, we all know that a 1,000 plus horsepower can be made with a 400+ cfm head. So just think what can happen with a 400+ cfm head once you port them! Our prototype head, with a "little" massaging, has posted a 470 cfm flow number at 28" of water. How much HP can be made with numbers like this? Believe me, NOBODY wants these heads to be on the market more than we do. So please have a little patience. Help us promote this product, not condemn it. And who knows how fast you can go with a normally aspirated, traditional Pontiac engine? I know this is going to cause a lot of nay-sayers to go into a feeding frenzy, but without controversy, there would not be progress. Sorry about the long post, but this is just a quick synopsis; not the whole picture. If you have questions, please call me at 330-628-3354 between 4-6 p.m. Eastern time M-F. Thanks for your support and interest. Don Johnston, CEO DCI Motorsports Inc., Home of the exciting new Pontiac Tiger Cylinder Head. |

Looking forward to it Don, let us know if you need anything else for the test engine.
|
Woohooooo!!! More Ponitac Stuff! And heads that flow 400 CFM out of the box! Looking forward to seeing 'em!
|
I suggest you hurry Don! As there is another 400cfm head coming out!!! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif
Be Cool, |
Thanks for the update Don and thanks also for investing your money and time in these new heads. I'm glad to hear that you're still going forward with them. Can't wait to see the end result.
Thanks to you too Ken B.! Looking forward to seeing yours as well. |
Very good news an both issues. Quality and availabilty. No apology required for your post. The availability of cylinder heads with the kind of flow potential (both out of the box and worked) you describe will be the next large step for the traditional Pontiac engine. Thanks for the update.
|
Of course we're being impatient, Don. The magazine article on your heads came out a year ago, worked us all up into a lather at the prospect of a new head coming soon, and then we hear NOTHING for the next year. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_razz.gif
Well, I'm glad it's finally coming to fruition. Please keep us posted. |
I'd also like to see someone come out with a head with raised exhaust ports (like the Super Chief's) that aren't siamesed. At this level of performance, custom parts and headers are required anyway, so why keep producing the siamesed ports in the center of the head?

I think it would be cool to take a set of these heads and a new all pontiac block and go race PRO street aginst Pat Musi and Tony Christian with another stage or two and a new chassi Im already working on I think it could be done!

"When you wish upon a star, ........." Ray, marry a rich woman, have some kids, and Fo-get-about-it" You got a snowball's chance in He** of competing with either one of those guys without owning Sunkist Oranges or the largest marina in Key West. I can tell you that from experience. Tom V. |
Tom.....I think he forgets you still need a port to shove 3 stages of Nitrous down.
Musi runs 632 cu.in's too. Now a small cu.in. twin turbo set up? 4.350 bore with a 3.5 stroke? 450 cfm heads. Now there's a ticket. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif Oh.. and a Marina or Orange company in Florida. http://pysales.com/images/sweat.gif Remember Reigers SBC Truck? |
Don- glad to see you posting on here. I spent a good bit of time with Don and can tell that he is generally interested in helping the Pontiac racer. Can't wait to see a finished set. Don do you have a forecasted release date??
|
ok Tom and Dude you know that by saying it cant be done I have to try right! they said my truck couldnt make it to fl and back to.........

RAY a couple of years ago Tony Christian etc. were being trounced by the TWIN TURBO guys -I think one was a truck http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_cool.gif.
|
Last time I looked Reiger had a net wealth of
over 7 figures. He also was paying Dietweiler big bucks to build fast SB turbo engines. (in a truck). I guess the Sunkist Oranges and the largest marina in key west went over some peoples heads. CUBIC DOLLARS REQUIRED to play in that game. Ray is presently not making 7 figures for a salary and is trying to keep his truck running so he can go to the races. Big Difference. Hit the lottery Ray, Hit the lottery! Or marry a rich woman and forget the racing. LOL! Tom V. |
Tom --I know this kind of racing takes big bucks$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but with all of JBP's etc. work www.jbp-pontiac.com theres a few RICH PRO PONTIAC GUYS out there http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_cool.gif.
|
I think Reiger's P/S truck is now owned by Steve Miller.
Not the Space Cowboy "Miller". http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif |
