Is there such a thing as 69 YD block 400 ci. If there is a YD block can some one out there tell what it is and what car did it come from.

The YD code 400 engines came in '67, '69 & '70 big Pontiacs (Catalina, Bonneville, etc). They were rated at 290 HP and came with small-valve (1.96/1.66) heads and 2-barrel carbs.

Thanks b-man, Can one mate 670 heads with a YD block and what would the outcome be

B-man is right on those applications as I used to have a YD block years ago in my GTO. Yes you can use 670 heads with no problem or any of the other high performance D-ports.

hey B-Man,

What would be the outcome of swapping an intake and 4bbl carb from a '74 engine into one of these YD blocks, in terms of performance? Would that be a good combo to work with? Many questions on my mind because I can get my hands on one that looks untouched and original. Thanks.
