Hi Everyone, I've asked around on this one and I'm getting a lot of different opinions. Should you tighten down the Upper Control arm bolts with the weight of the car on the ground or up in the air? For that matter what about the lower control arm bushings? It's a 1966 GTO. I've rebuilt everything with stock parts and I'd like to know what to tighten and when. Up in the air, down on the ground, or does it matter?...Thanks!........Gary

I haven't gotten to that point on mine yet but. I think the proper thing is to snug them all up in the air (unloaded) but do your final torque tightening with the front end on the ground (loaded).

tighten the bolts that hold the bushings with the weight on the suspension.

tighten all the bushings , upper and lower , after its on the ground, after you let the car down on the ground move the car back and forward some. to settle the suspension then tighten all the bolts on the bushings

U tighten all mounting bolts and and bring 4 bushing bolts just slightly loose then u tighten the 4 control arm bushing bolts with the suspension at normal ride height not! unloaded. This way the bushings are not distorted at ride height

DRIVE IT LIKE U STOLE IT!

Yep, thats right. Tighten when full weight is in place....

I bought a set of car ramps to make this easier.

Jack up the rear on stands close to ride height. Now you have car weight on front tires and can get to the lower bolts with the longer torque wrench.
