Hi Everyone, Dropped my gas tank tonight on my 1966 GTO. Came out pretty easy. Pumped out about 4 gallons of gas in the tank. It had been setting for 3 years. I did put some Stabil gas treatment in the first year. Frankly, I thought the gas would have turned into goo. But it looked pretty good. Since we're planning on firing up the engine pretty soon I was wondering what to use to clean out the tank and lines? I was going to put in some fresh gas and slosh it around and then siphon it out with a pump. I heard that it's not a good idead to tip the tank around a lot because it messes up the sending unit inside the tank. Any suggestions? Thanks......Gary

I took my gas tank to the local radiator shop and had them boil it out. I then sealed it with Bill Hirch gas tank sealer. It has been happy since. As for the fuel lines, if you have an air hose blow through the lines to clean out any gunk. After filling up the tank, run some gas treatment through it as well.

My other life has meaning....

What can you use for a sock if the one you have has biodegraded?

Also where do you get Bill Hirch gas tank sealer?
Whats the stuff you swish around to prevent rust buildup?
