The 3 tab pan will have 2 slots and a hole for the rear rubber gasket.

The 5 has 5 slots for the gasket.

OK but where are the slots and the hole located? is it on the rear of the pan and are there slots and hols in the pan itself?

The rear of the pan rail that bolts to the block.Looks like a u-shape.

Ok still not to clear on this, I think we are talking about the area where i used a cork gasket. goes around the rear main cap, correct. I did have a rubber gasket with a couple of triangles on it but when I asked a question about using it no one answered. should I have used the rubber one also?

WARPed 08-25-2003 06:27 PM

No, believe it or not you did the right thing using the cork one. If your rear main cap has a grove to accept the cork gasket then you definitely do not want to use the rubber one.

with out questions there can be no answers
