Again, I read in the book that tonneau covers were an option for '66 convertibles. Anyone have the exact dimensions so I can make one, or know where I can buy one?

BTW, you're responding to a 21 year old post, the OP hasn't been here in nearly 20 years. At any rate, this cover can be found on page 9 of the '67 Accessories Catalog. Little pocket sized thing. HTH. https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com...1&d=1747719303 |
I've seen one installed on a car at Barrett Jackson. It would not be difficult to make, but I didn't like that there were snaps around the perimeter to hold it in place including the upper dash, tops of doors, quarters etc

We found a 67 Sprint Convertible in a junkyard long ago that had all the snaps for the tonneau cover.
It was a ghastly sight. Real hokey looking. You can see 2 of them on top of exterior driver door in the picture that was posted by 242177P |
NO THANKS
Dealer Option 64-67.
Many years back, while attending a ROYAL GTOS club show (MD), I was drawn to a very well restored light blue '64 with this option. I found it interesting and wish I had taken photos of all the details. I became interested again in the details after seeing a '67 with remnants of this option. It had the snaps along the upper dash, and along the upper outside of the front doors, and both inside and outside the rear upper quarter glass. The piece that caught my curiosity was the provisions for the center support "Rod." It was a round part, and I surmised it may have been sort of like a fishing pole with a slip-together design for easier storage, but don't know this for sure. In the end it was/is a horrible idea and not something I would ever consider using. |
