Just had a professionally "Built" 4 speed auto out of a Grand National installed to replace my old 2 speed...Who Knew??

Same drive shaft, same column shift, http://pysales.com/images/sweat.gif but a REAL Low, a Passing Gear and an Overdrive too.

BOP double bolt pattern on bell housing makes it sort of universally GM friendly, I got a lock-up torque converter, throttle cable initiates passing gear kick down, "Sweet."

word of wisdom make sure u'all have the cable adjusted right or u'all burn up the trans as it controls everything

I ain't touching the cable myself, I got a 12 month warranty, I'm going to put as many test miles on it as I can.

Got one in my 78 T/A from Bowtie Overdrives. Works a treat!

When swapping from a TH400 you only need to swap the yoke and move the crossmember back a bit. I have them off and on in my 70 GTO, the 455 kills them off pretty easily in stock form. Havent gotten one built yet, and mine always seem to have issues when I build them. So I keep a spare 400 handy..

love that OD tho, 1800 rpm @ 80 mph!!

Mine was redone locally by a guy that races Grand Nationals, he only uses GN, or SC Grand Prix 200 r4's and says mine will hold up to around 500HP.
When I get my fuel injected V8 I might strain it but for now it's behind an OHC 6, so I don't think I can hurt it.
That's the most direct bolt up to replace my 1967 2 speed.
Cruises at around 1900 to 2000 @ 80 MPH.
