Todd that looks like a serious engine you have there. What are the specifics on it.
|
JBP 320+ CNC heads (standard port), 400 block, 467 kit from JBP, 1050 Holley, Victor, 270@ .050 roller, 1.65 rockers, 6.8" eagle rods, Ross pistons, gapless rings. 87cc E heads and Hooker super comps.
TH400, 3000 stall, 3.42 gears. I am hoping the low stall will let it hook and then when the it starts making power about 4000 due to the duration it will start to pull rather than spin. |
Hmmmmm looks like someone wants to go fast!! http://forums.performanceyears.com/g...on_biggrin.gif
Looks good. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_cool.gif |
It turned me on!! NICE ....

Very cool looking power plant. Did you use a crank scraper? Sounds like a killer combo. Please let us know how she does at the track.

i can't wait to post pics of my new 474...shouldn't be more than 2 weeks.
|
very nice!!!.what intake is that?
|
Edelbrock Victor with 4500 flange. No crank scraper, and I am hoping for bottom tens to high nines if it ever hooks. Its getting lighter by the day.

12 point cage is on the way, its the winter project, as are subrfame connectors, glass front end and doors. I am still looking for ways to get lighter, Ray has been really helpful in that area.
It hooked pretty well with the 670 headed 455 and slicks, 1.5x 60 fts with only a 3000 stall. On the BFG's that are in the pic, it did a best of 1.69 but usually spun just a bit and pulled 1.75-1.79. That was on a slippery track in defense of the BFG's. Should be running this evening. Got all my parts and its on to the thrash untill it moves under its own power again.. |
Todd,
That looks COOL!!!! I think Grandville asked what intake it was because it looks huge (tall) in the picture. I was thinking the same thing. |
Hey Todd, what were your 1/8th mile times and speed with the 670 heads?
Dwight |
288-296 Ultradyne hyd cam, 3000 stall, 850 holley, 4.11 gears, 3650lbs, torker II intake, and JBP ported 670's netted 7.7-7.5 90-93mph in the 1/8.
The new one is a completely new engine. Two factory parts used, 1: the block, 2: Cam retaining plate. |
I'm privy to getting to witness the birth of this creature...
BUT MINE STILL LOOKS PRETTIER!!! |
I will not paint my engien RED! My engine is prettier, your car has better looks...lol. Mine's faster.
|
Nice motor but dam is your avtar annoying!
|
Should I slow it down or add more pics of my cars to it or something? And Thanks everyone for the compliments.
I just need to lash the valves, install the valley pan and intake, and bolt up the headers. I just had them sittin on there for the pics. |
