I have a 69 GTO with a Muncie M20. The trans keeps "eating" the yoke. I have tried 3 different driveshafts, have had the trans disassembled and the output shaft checked for runout, and changed the tailshaft bushing several times. When the driveshafts were switched, new U-joints were used. Any thoughts on this problem would be appreciated.

Exactly where is the yoke wearing? Is there any wear on the output shaft of the tranny? How much pinion angle are you running at the rear?

The yoke wears looks to be where the tailshaft bushing rides. I have never measured the pinion angle, but the car is "stock". The motor mounts and trans mount are all fairly new.

does the driveshaft appear to spin uniformly at all rpms with the rear wheels off the ground, and in gear?
does the slip yoke fit snugly on/in the tailshaft?
