I'm ready to reinstall the frame on my 67 GTO Conv. I will be using p-s-t polygraphite bushings and have purchased new body bolts. I can't immagine having too much trouble but thought I might check with every one to see if anyone has "learned the hard way" what to do or what not to do.

One thing I read here on this forum is that you need to install your fuel and vapor lines before you put your body back on the frame if you are installing original one piece lines.

The third bolt back from the front is shorter than the rest. Ordinarily the new bolts supplied are all the same length. You will either have to reuse the old bolt or cut off the new one. See attached picture. Also, there are a couple of smaller holes in the frame that match up with holes in the body. These can be used to temporarily install two long thinner bolts from the lower side of the frame to use for alignment when mating the body to the frame. This minimizes moving the body around trying to line up with the body bolts. They can then be removed from the bottom when the body is lowered onto the frame.

Ray....when you said there was different lenght bolts in the frame mounts...well one anyway....does that just apply to a 67 conv...or would that also be true on other models.I plan to do a 65 clone and would like to know this b4 i screw up! Thanks

Run a tap up into the weld nuts.

Make sure the body is sitting square on the frame, before you tighten down the body mounts. There is enough leeway to be off to one side or the other. My 2 cents worth.

DeWayne, I believe the frame is the same for 64-67. The frame on the convertible is the same except I believe it is boxed for additional support. I do know that the convertible uses the same body mounts and hardware.
