This past weekend I posted a best of 9.399 @ 143.09 mph weighing 3200 lbs. The motor has only 6 passes on it. Sixty foots are 1.32s. There is still more in it as I am only launching at 3400 because I still do not have wheelie bars on it yet. It will be going to the shop next week for the bars.

It should be 'hangin em' at Maple Grove and Norwalk.

I hope to see .20s in the fall.

Awesome!Great Job!

grnmnstr 06-16-2004 05:15 PM

Thanks guys. The only way I'll see 8s is with an after market block and a few more cubes. It is only 481", with a stock 455 block and a 4.375" stroke. I just hope the block will last another season.

That car just keeps getting faster and faster. Good Job Tom.

SupergasDil 06-16-2004 06:44 PM

Forget the wheelie bars. Let's see you drive that baby. http://forums.performanceyears.com/g.../icon_wink.gif

Keep up the good work Tom! 9.20's should be right around the corner, with a good 60ft in the high 1.20's (if possible). Another strong E headed pontiac!

Tom Vaught 06-20-2004 07:46 AM

Good Job!

Putting the bars on the car is a good idea from a safety standpoint too. Just make sure if you take them off, you
chack to make sure someone put them back on before you really launch the car.

I saw "the Master" Arnie Beswick launch at one of Butler's Memorial Day events some years ago. No Bars!

The front end was pointing at the evening moon! Wheels
were over a man's head.

Once Arnie figured out something wasn't right, he drove
it down the track until he could softly drop it back to
the ground. No damage except for a loose crank trigger,
if I remember correctly. Big Dave Anderson was there too!
Right Dave?

The bars will also make you quicker, but "Wheelie Boy"
never really wanted to go fast. JK! http://pysales.com/images/spank.gif

Nice times Green Monster.

I just dropped my car off today to get the wheeliebars and chute on it. Going out this weekend and start to throw some nitrous to her.

grnmnstr 06-21-2004 09:32 PM

Thanks guys.

itnop, the rear is a 12 bolt with 4.11 Pro gears. The slicks are 29.5 x 11.5W Hoosiers. I shift at 6400 and go through the traps at about 6600.

I hope to see some 1.28s, 1.29s when the wheelie bars are put on. Because then I will be able to launch against the converter instead of only 3400.
