Has anyone run into valve tip geometry problems when going from stock rockers to the Harland sharp? When I switched rockers ,valve guide wear was inhanced ,tip indicated wear pattern to run center of tip at valve closed to outbd edge of tip at full valve open,I know this in not accepted.Pulled heads installed longer Ferra valves + .100 bronze guides.Pattern on valve tip was almost perfect but still favoring outbd of valve tip at half lift, installed Crower solid lifters that sit .070 deeper than stock, rechecked tip pattern and results was perfect contact inbd of center at valve closed, dead center at half lift and mirror image of inbd but to the outbd at full lift.

FWIW
My 1.5's that I just got a few weeks ago measured at 1.61 when on the motor. My 1.65's that I got 10 years ago measured 1.74 ont he same motor. |
My HS have always given the same pattern as stock rockers and the same pushrod length for me. My 1,5s are around 1.52 and the 1.65s 1.7-1.72.
But each rocker may need a specific pushrod length for the perfect pattern. |
Did you you check for push rod length? I ended up with 9.100 Hi-teks with shaved 16's HS 1.5 rockers...I've heard it said HS 1.5s come in at 1.6 with most builds.

Never measured the rockers (or the pushrods for that matter) on one engine I had and cranking it over by hand would always locked up on one piston. Switched to Crane rockers of the same ratio and problem went away.
