I've got a 68 firebird and need new leaf springs. The price range is pretty wide from about $100 bucks at JCWhitney to well over $300 at race shops. I don't race my car, I like to drive it fast on smooth country roads and highways. Like Pro-Touring but I'm more of an amature than a pro. I can do the work myself but need help selecting a good set up for that driving style. I also need to maintain the stock ride height. Any ideas.

Most large cities have spring shops. Go to one of them and tell them what you are interested in.

I got my springs from PST. No complants what so ever.

I bought 5-leaf springs from ESPO. It may just be that ESPO is a poor choice but these things are a little too stiff and makes the car sit high. I would get 4-leaf if were to do it again.

Well I called the local spring shop and they really weren't very helpfull. They just told me the price which was fairly inexpensive but the springs are most likely just straight replacements. So now I'm inbetween PST's spring and Eaton springs. Also maybe my car got an add a leaf or something but I've got 6 leaf's in my old spring and it dosn't sit high or anything. Am I counting the leafs wrong. I count 6 seperate springs of different lenghths connected together. So now I'm stuck on whether to get a 5 or 4 leaf spring. I want the same ride height I had before. Any ideas or experiences. Thanks!

Previous owner of my 68 put on the "less expensive" 5 leaf springs and the rear sits about 1 1/2" - 2" higher than I think it should. There have been so many other things taking priority on the car I have not changed them out. Eventually, I think I'd like to switch them out to Hotchkis lowering springs.
